t’s pageant season, and one FAMU alumna is making sure she makes her mark on the hill by helping orchestrate the best pageants and campaigns.
Winslyn B. Parrish, an MHA candidate, pageant coordinator and campaign manager, acts as the founder and president of The Winning Experience, specializing in “management and coaching for HBCU campaigns and pageantry,” according to the company’s Instagram.

It’s no secret that FAMU’s football season is enormous, drawing large crowds of past and present students. With the popularity of football season, it’s also a great time for small businesses and vendors selling paraphernalia to shine.

Beta Nu Has New Royal Court
Beta Nu has a new royal court on the hill.
The annual scholarship pageant for the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity took place in Lee Hall on Thursday night. The award-winning musical “Dreamgirls” served as the pageant’s theme.
The musical drama “Dreamgirls,” which features huge names like Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson and Beyoncé Knowles, chronicles the ascent of a singing group akin to the Supremes.

Fraternity coming to School of the Environment
For students interested in pursuing careers in environmental science and sustainability, Epsilon Eta, sometimes called Ep Eta, is a professional gender-inclusive fraternity. It’s the first national environmental fraternity in the United States, founded in 2006 at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. The fraternity has expanded to include chapters all around the country.

Dance Companies Strut Their Stuff
Florida A&M students gathered at Lee Hall Auditorium Saturday night to watch the Strikers Dance Troupe and Mahogany Dance Theater fall preview dance showcase. The lovely ladies of TorQue and spoken word poetry performances were among the special guests for the performance, which was divided into two acts.
This will be both group’s second fall preview, with the last one taking place in fall 2022. This show previews the fall premier showcase at the end of the semester.

#FreeThePeriod Now an Official Club
The FAMU student organization #FreeThePeriod aims to make the university a more inclusive campus by normalizing conversations around menstruation. It also wants to make menstrual products more easily accessible, and educate students on women’s health and hygiene.

Discover a world of possibilities
The Sustainability Club is actively working to make Florida A&M University a greener campus by organizing volunteer events, increasing student access to recycling, and collaborating with student-led organizations.
The club was started in 2021 and was recently revived with a new E-board in 2022. The club’s members created a nature-themed photo wall for students to use during homecoming in 2022 as a way to re-introduce themselves to the campus community.
